There are three JCRs in Newnham: Fawcett, Clough, and Peile. All have TVs, comfy sofas, chairs, large tables and beautiful artwork. Fawcett and Peile JCRs also have computers on which you can access your Hermes Webmail.
Clough and Peile JCRs have DVD players so you can watch movies with your friends.
There is an ongoing student book collection in Clough JCR, so if you ever need a good book to distract you from your studies, just go choose one off the shelf! Additionally, if you have any books you are finished with, or just can't fit in your bags to bring home - leave it there for someone else to enjoy!
This past term, a great effort has been made to introduce more artwork into the JCRs to make them feel more home-y and welcoming. We are now looking for YOUR artwork to hang in the JCRs. If you have any pieces you would like to contribute or are interested in making something, please please please drop the Halls Officer a line at : jcr.halls@newn.cam.ac.uk
If you would like to book a JCR for personal use, please fill in your name, activity and the times you would like to book the JCR on the calendars on the noticeboards inside the JCR. Please note that you should be quiet between the hours of 11pm and 7am so as not to disturb neighbouring rooms. You are also expected to clean up after your event: basically remove any rubbish, crockery or alcohol you were using!
