All rooms will have the basic equipment: bed, lamp, desk, wardrobe, book shelves, plug sockets....plus many rooms have cool antique bureaus, gorgeous old fireplaces, and some have sinks and fridges. It's usually the case that rooms get better year on year as you move up through the college (by third year you might even have your own sofa!).
We are one of the very few colleges in which all students pay the same rate and also, unlike most other colleges, we do not allocate rooms based on a scholars' ballot. The ballot takes place during Lent term every year and each student is given a chance to pick her room for the following year based on a random order.
If you do any damage to your room accidentally (or otherwise) make sure you tell Housekeeping or Maintenance straight away. Any damage found at the end of term will incur a fine.
At the end of each term when you leave your room, make sure you follow the detailed housekeeping checklist of what needs to be done otherwise you will be fined. Checklists are emailed to each undergraduate about a week before term ends.
