The Stephenson Society is the inter-collegiate engineering society for the Cambridge colleges, Sidney Sussex, Newnham and Wolfson. We meet on a fortnightly basis during the Michaelmas and Lent terms, beginning the year with a freshers' squash and ending it with the StephSoc annual dinner. Throughout the academic year we run talks on engineering, covering the whole spectrum and, more often than not, branching out further into interdisplinary grounds.
This year we've enjoyed a wide variety of talks featuring Red Bull Formula One Racing, the Cabot Circus Project in Bristol, the Karahnjukar Dam Project in Iceland and further wide ranging talks on pixeless displays, the mechanics of biological materials, next generation thorium reactors and the redevelopment of the London 2012 Olympic Games site.
The coming academic year promises to be just as good, if not better! For more information, please visit http://stephsoc.soc.srcf.net/home.php
